A wet rainy day in Itako, but worth a photographic journey, as we went b express bus from Tokyo Station  to Itako, Ibaraki  90 minutes away to see the Iris Festival.

This small but colorful event full of Iris Flowers , had a highlight the Wedding Procession.
The bride ( a real bride) is excorted by a small boat through the River to meet her groom on the landing.

It is a small festival but so meaningful and absolutely charming.

It was not washed away by the rain, but instead endowed the event with such warmth and tenderness that it wiped away the raindrops form the cameras and the audience, who all stood in the rain to share this wondeful lovely event.

No large crowds so it became very personal.
